An extensive
salt marsh on the north coast of the Gower Peninsula. In the end credits of
Series 6 episode 3,
Smirkenorff can be seen flying northeast over the meandering
pills (tidal creeks) of the marsh, from North Hill Tor towards the confluence of Burry Pill and Great Pill. The pine plantations of Whiteford Burrows National Nature Reserve and Berges Island can be seen to the left.
Team 8 of Series 5 began their quest on the other side of the large pine wood, where Smirkenorff was waiting for
dungeoneer Duncan.

The
dragon flew him southeast along the edge of the wood, passing a distinctive row of trees that meet the end of the sea wall separating Cwm Ivy Marsh from Landimore Marsh. The former was a freshwater marsh until storms breached the wall in 2014, transforming it back to salt marsh.

...and over North Hill Tor (or Nottle Tor), a cliff behind which are the remains of an Iron Age promontory fort. (In the programme, however, it was
Wolfenden that lay beyond this point!)
Smirkenorff
flights in Series 2 and 3 of
El Rescate del Talismán also departed from this location.
